A 21-year-old playwright has died in a tragic car crash the day after her grandmother’s funeral.
Felicity ‘Fliss’ Morton was killed in the incident on the Bruce Highway near Gladstone, Queensland, on Wednesday.
She was returning to Brisbane with her family after attending her grandmother’s funeral in Rockhampton on Tuesday, Westside News reported.
Ms Morton - one of five siblings - was remembered as “the sweetest girl”.
“She was a little ray of sunshine for everyone,” her mother Rosemary said.
“Her name means happiness, and she had a special quality of bringing happiness and laughter wherever she went.”
The budding theatre star had recently completed her degree, majoring in drama, at Queensland University of Technology.
She had been accepted onto a master’s course at Goldsmiths University in London.
Police are investigating the crash.
